Since 2001, Dr. Roger A. Clemens has served as a faculty member in the Department of Regulatory and Quality Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC) Mann School. He is also a faculty member in the Global Medicine Program at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He served as a scientific advisor to Nestlé USA for more than 21 years and later became Chair of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He subsequently served as Chief Scientific Officer at HORN for approximately ten years. He is also a co-founder and Executive Vice President of Scientific Operations at PolyScience Consulting.
Dr. Clemens has served as President of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), President of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST), and a member of the Governing Council of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). He is a Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition, the American College of Nutrition, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the International Academy of Food Science and Technology.
Dr. Clemens has published numerous original research papers in the fields of nutrition, food science, and toxicology. He has delivered more than 300 invited presentations in the United States and internationally and has served on expert panels for food industry organizations, scientific societies, trade associations, and regulatory agencies in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Since 2014, he has written a column on food, medicine, and health for Food Technology magazine, which has a global circulation of more than 33,000. He has been quoted and interviewed by more than 500 health journalists in the United States and abroad and has frequently appeared on television programs discussing contemporary issues in health, nutrition, and food safety.

Dr. Pingfan Rao is a Professor and the founding Director of CAS.SIBS-Zhejiang Gongshang University Joint Center for Food and Nutrition Research, and a Distinguished Professor of Fuzhou University of China. A world-renowned scholar in food science and technology, Dr Rao has published more than 180 high-quality scholarly papers, two books, and 17 patents over the past 35 years. His research focuses primarily on expanding knowledge of foods for improving health, specifically identifying and characterizing bioactive proteins and expression and scale production of recombinant enzymes, protein derivatives as the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and food. Dr. Pingfan Rao has vast leadership experience. In China, he sits in the National Committee of Future Earth and serves in advisory committees in several provincial governments. He has been the vice-president of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology since 2001. At IUFoST, Dr. Pingfan Rao has been playing an active and remarkable leadership role for the past two decades. He was appointed Fellow of the IAFoST (2008); IUFoST Governing Council member (2006-2010), IUFoST President (2012-2014), IUFoST representative at the International Science Council, and currently a member of the Board. He was a key organizer for the 2008 World Congress of Food Science and Technology in Shanghai, and was instrumental in bringing the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) - the world’s largest food professional community- to become one of the most dynamic players in IUFoST. His tremendous contributions to food science for the global society have been broadly recognized by numerous awards, including the Fellow of the IAFoST and a Fellow of CIFST.

Dr. Dong Jin currently serves as President of the China Medical Devices Journal Press and LumoScience Publishing. He is also Deputy Director of the Department of Clinical Medical Engineering at Capital Medical University, as well as Legal Representative and Chairman of the Beijing Smart Healthcare Technology Innovation Alliance. In addition, Dr. Dong holds multiple leadership positions in national academic and professional organizations, including Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Professional Committee on Medical Device Regulation Research of the China Drug Regulatory Research Association; President of the Geriatric Medicine Branch of the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics; Chairman of the Hospital Innovation Management Committee of the Chinese National Health Association; and President of the Clinical Engineering Branch of the China Non-Public Medical Institutions Association. He also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Clinical Engineering Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association, Founding Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Clinical Medical Engineers Branch of the Beijing Medical Association, and Standing Committee Member of the Medical Engineering Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
